Meeting Minutes
Call to order: Meeting called to order at 6 PM by President Janet Stanley

Treasurer’s Report:
Balance: $5379.00 Motion to accept made by Matt Stanley and seconded by Dolores Jacksland. $1185.00was netted from the volleyball tournament.
Correspondence:
Arkell museum and library holding an event on 10/13 a harvest festival featuring a group of New York chefs dedicated to promoting locally grown farm-fresh food. All proceed benefit Arkell Museum exhibits and programs
Old Business:
Bike Tour on July 13, 2018 was successful. Concert and barbecue downtown were enjoyed. A map of chamber businesses was distributed to bikers.
A fully completed community map is still under construction, the map is receiving positive participation. Map will have sponsorships with a reduced cost to chamber members.
New Business:
Volleyball tournament was very successful. This will be an annual program that will grow. A donation of $250.00 from the proceeds will be made to the Schoff family to assist with medical costs, with the rest of the proceeds benefitting the chamber.
Elves night out will be held on 12/7. Volunteers will be recruited to host a silent auction. Anyone interested in donating a prize or basket can see Janet Stanley. Also, a 50/50 raffle will be held, with tickets being sold throughout the week.
Donations of cookies are welcome for Elves night, to be delivered to the library Friday afternoon. Office for aging has agreed to donate 12 dozen cookies. Volunteers needed for cocoa and cookies at the library.
Additional contacts to be made for Elves night: horse and wagon, Santa, confirm post office letters for Santa, library, DPW, music teacher, anyone able to assist please contact Janet Stanley.
Date for decorating the park is 11/19 led by Dolores Jacksland and Janine Nelson, any volunteers interested may contact them for details. Reindeer will also return to the Beechnut lawn. Dolores Jacksland is donating four new reindeer. Anyone else interested in donating funds towards additional plywood can see Janet Stanley. School will be contacted in regards to the new reindeer construction.
DPW to be contacted about removal of the bridge flags. Donations of new flags can be made in memory of someone at any time for new flags in the Spring.
Fundraising:
Community Auction, a limited number of items have been donated. Due to lack of interest the auction will be postponed at this time. A suggestion was made to consider “junk in the trunk” instead with individuals making a donation to rent the spot to sell items out of the back of their vehicle. Additional discussion will be held to consider this event in the Spring.
Janine Nelson has made a contact with an air force veteran who does motivational speaking engagements about his experience. Janine was asked to get additional information in regards to this for a possible future event.
Other: No additional discussions at this time
Meetings: Meetings to be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Next Chamber meeting 10/9/18 at Arkell Center at 6 PM.
