Meeting Minutes

Call to order: Meeting called to order at 6 PM by President Janet Stanley

Minutes:  Minutes from April 2018 meeting reviewed, no changes. Motion to accept made by Sheryl Neal and seconded by Harry Barse

Treasurer’s Report:

Balance: $3428.63 Motion to accept made by Matt Stanley and seconded by Janine Nelson

Correspondence:

Donation received for flowers in memory of Thomas Mickle

Old Business:

 Memberships continue to come in, Sheryl Neal continues to follow up with calls and visits to businesses who have not renewed.

Bike Tour will be coming through town July 13, 2018. This tour travels from Buffalo to Albany. Bikers tent up to the school. Volunteers are needed downtown. T-shirts have been ordered. There will be a concert and barbecue downtown.

Matt Stanley is working on the community map. Map will be able to have advertising and will be a great way to showcase our businesses when someone comes to town. Will also include historical sites and points of interests. Map will have sponsorships with a reduced cost to chamber members.

May Day party in the park for the children was held and went very well.

 Chamber phone has been cancelled. Chamber can be contacted through website.

Arkell museum celebration was held April 14, chamber attended and received one new individual membership.

New Business:

A program on the prevention of Lyme disease will be presented at the next meeting 6/12/18 at Arkell Center. This is open to the public, posters will be hung throughout town and Palatine and Fort Plain.

Fundraising:

Donations continue to be collected for the downtown summer flowers. Checks can be sent to the Canajoharie Palatine chamber or done through the website.

Elves night out, Janet and Matt Stanley and Harry Barse will meet to discuss some new ideas for elves night.  

The idea of a Christmas ornament that represents our area continues to be researched.

Dolores Jacksland reported on the golf fundraiser that will be held in September 9/7/18. Tournament will include a spaghetti supper and silent auction. Hole sponsorships are $50.00.  Anyone looking to assist please contact Dolores Jacksland.

Other: Information booth downtown needs clean up and painting. Also new brochures are needed. Further discussion to be held at next meeting.

Ideas for small business Saturday to be discussed at a future meeting.

Meetings: Meetings to be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Next Chamber meeting 6/12/18 at Arkell Center at 6 PM.
