Meeting Minutes

Call to order: Meeting called to order at 6 PM by President Phyllis Lapi. 7 in attendance

Minutes:  Previous minutes distributed by secretary. Motion to approve made by Beth Luck and seconded by Sheryl Neal.

Treasurer’s Report:

Checking Balance:  363.82

Flag money is kept separate as those funds were raised specific to purchasing flags, current balance $1007.00

Correspondence:

No correspondence

Old Business:

John Snyder from Lee publications has agreed to complete tourism booklet that was started last year. Booklet includes history and highlights from our community and local advertising. Target of distribution for May.

New Business: 

Membership letters will go out this week. They will also go out by e-mail. Patriot bank has volunteered to complete mailing. Membership dues may also by paid through Pay pal on the Canajoharie, Palatine Bridge Chamber website. Individual membership $35.00 and Business membership $60.00.

We have been invited to join the Arkell museum and library for a community day on 4/29, 12-4:30, during their display of Animals in Bronze  and Canada Lake portraits by Paul Bransom. Chamber will sponsor a table with some type of activity for children. Anyone willing to volunteer this day please contact Phyllis Lapi through the chamber website.

Upcoming Events and fundraisers:

House and garden tour scheduled for 6/24/17 10-2.

Palatine Bridge’s 150th Anniversary community event will be 6/17/17 featuring chicken barbecue, live music, car show and many other fun events.

Chamber is proposing a community barbecue in August at Wintergreen Park to raise funds, more details to follow. Anyone interested in working on this fund raiser please contact Phyllis Lapi through the chamber website.

Bike tour will be coming through Canajoharie again this year on 7/14/17.

The Farmer’s Market will be coming back starting in June, with a grand opening on 6/11/17,anyone interested in being a vendor may contact Phyllis Lapi through the chamber website.

Meetings: Meetings to be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Next Chamber meeting 4/11/17 PM at Arkell Center at 6 PM.

UPCOMING EVENT

The chamber is pleased to announce there will be a marketing seminar at its May 9th meeting presented by CMK Marketing. This presentation will focus on how local businesses can use tools such as social media to more effectively advertise their business. We invite all  businesses to attend this free event at the May 9th meeting 6 PM at Arkell Center.
